Lady Gaga releases new single Applause early. Applause seems to have divided music fans and critics across the world, but did we expect anything less from an artist with as much sway as Lady Gaga?
Not everybody will love it, and not everybody will hate it. It's fair to say that it might not be the best work she's ever put out there, but it's certainly not going to be a failure by anybody's means. Some would argue that Lady Gaga has 'lost her magic', but is it really possible for her to do such a thing with such a large and empowering fanbase?
Her Little Monsters won't let the song be a failure. To that end, it doesn't really matter how good or bad Applause is - and her next album ARTPOP (which is out in November) - because she's going to be a big deal for a very long time, and remain at the top of her game regardless of any mediocre songs she puts out there.
